This week and hopefully for a while the topic will be entrepreneurship!! YES! The president of the United States of America will be visiting Kenya for a summit that supposed to boost our very own Kenyan Entrepreneurs.
Fund raising and Proposal Management is our Friday topic today and its a big deal considering every non profit organization needs someone who can strategize creative and practical ways to raise funds or write proper proposals that will make a certain project take off.
You might think that just standing in a mass of people and asking for money for a certain cause is all it take.....your in a for a big surprise! Absolutely not. This is a profession not fully taken advantage of that even in the summit President Obama will be showcasing, this profession will be in discussion or mention.
PROPOSAL WRITING
Writing a winning proposal requires skill, professionalism and detail. This i promise you you cannot get off google! you need proper training. The training and certification is not limited to business people but everyone in this sector, whether you work for the government, NGO, or private practice.
FUND RAISING
This is very technical as simply getting someone to believe in a certain cause and asking for money to support it needs proper paper work, proper proposals and TRUST
Again you wont meet the CEO of safaricom with just poor written proposals! You will be asked alot of questions and strategies....AM not trying to scare you, but the greater the course, the greater the career the more standard you get as an individual / corporate. (which automatically means more money :) )
