Etiquette & Personal Branding : How much do you know?

It is impossible to overlook the extent to which civilization is built upon a renunciation of instinct,” Sigmund Freud

There’s always a tension between how much we should follow our instincts and how much we should yield to social conventions. But at times like ours, the tendency is to tilt too far toward our instincts, since the conventions are changing fast and there’s no consensus about them anyway. There’s a risk in that. You don’t know whom you might be offending or how you might be sabotaging your own success.
Sometimes i like to think of it as 'where professionalism comes from'

Business etiquette and personal branding is something we all need to succeed and get to a standard of professionalism.  One might think ' i was raised well i have what it takes, i am well groomed  plus i communicate well......" but thats just not it.
There is more to it than just good upbringing as our upbringing and past education goes only so far as much as manners is concerned however Business Etiquette covers a whole lot in your professional career and goes a long way into growing success. One word or email can totally damage an entire organizations business reputation and cost the company lots in terms of resources.

I will List down a few of what i can gather up on my mind. However i will ask you as an individual to plan in your agenda how you can get this course and back up your skills and write back to me and tell me how much you didnt know and NOW you know :)

1. Email etiquette and Business Writing
Learn when and when NOT to use email to communicate (This affects so many businesses and organizations big and small (Effective subject lines, professional greetings and readable formating)

2.  Hosting Corporate Guests
This can be tricky if you dont know what to do or say.
Essential elements in planning is vital prior to the guests. First impressions tell a lot and cannot     be erased so get it right the first time

3. How to network like a pro!
During seminars and business conferences is probably the best time to meet new business contacts or introduces your services or product.... this is sensitive you need to know how.

This is just crumbs of the loaf, Divine Schools - Africa will give you a whole lot of business etiquette and personal branding - (that i haven't covered here). This is probably the most important courses you will ever learn before getting on the rest. Most organizations that know its value and will tell you for free that they invest in training manuals for their staff as this saves them lots in terms of monetory and branding.

Have a Blessed Tuesday :)
